Department Of Dairy & Food Technology


The Department of Dairy & Food Technology is the core department of the college. It consists of six well-equipped laboratories. The department offers twelve courses in the B. Tech Dairy Technology programme comprising of Market milk, Traditional Indian Dairy products, Fat Rich Dairy products, Cheese & Fermented milk products, Condensed & Dry milk, Dairy Development in India, Ice cream & Frozen Desserts, Packaging Technology, Food Technology, Dairy Plant Management and Pollution control, By products Technology and Sensory evaluation of Dairy products Similarly, for the B. Tech Food Technology programme, the department offers fifteen courses comprising of Production Processing & Preservation of food, Traditional Indian Food Products, Legumes & Oil Seed Technology, Dairy Technology, Cereals & Millets Technology, Oils Fats & Related products, Bakery & Confectionary products, Egg, Fish & Meat Technology, Fruits & Vegetable Technology, Plantation products & Flavour Technology Packaging Technology, By products & Waste utilization, Technology of Frozen Foods Plant Management and Pollution Control and Sensory Evaluation of Food Products. In order to prepare human resources for dairy and food industry, considerable weight age is given to Practicals and hands-on-training.
